Story

My music story−I grew up on the east end of Long Island.  I received a BM in Music Education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam.  After a career of teaching band in the Beacon City and Center Moriches, NY School Districts, I retired and am now focusing my energy on my other passion, art.

My music story−I grew up on the east end of Long Island.  I received a BM in Music Education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam.  After a career of teaching band in the Beacon City and Center Moriches, NY School Districts, I retired and am now focusing my energy on my other passion, art. 

My art story−In 2003, I began studying photography with Rob Goldman.  I focused on portraits,  which evolved to abstract landscapes (mostly urban) that are realized using Adobe Photoshop.

I have recently begun a process which I call "abstract mark-making," where I put ruler and pen to paper and draw without thought or intention.  The results have been interesting and satisfying.  

Music and sound continue to influence my artistic sensibility, moving forward my desire to find rhythm and harmony  in my world.  

I  have exhibited my work in art galleries in Oyster Bay, the Long Island Museum of Art and the Southern Vermont Art Center.

I am a digital artist who creates abstractions with a desire to find the background spiritual blueprints or codes that inform, drive, and define people and places in the world.  The work connects me with my essential core, which is based in a deep simplicity.

I am a digital artist who creates abstractions with a desire to find the background spiritual blueprints or codes that inform, drive, and define people and places in the world.  The work connects me with my essential core, which is based in a deep simplicity. 

My journey to completion is an intricate, challenging, and satisfying personal investigation.  It is an active meditation.  

I start with raw images gathered from my camera or drawings and transfer them to a digital space.  

The editing process which follows is a multi-faceted one, uncovering the most essential, cohesive and impactful elements to redefine the images.  

Eventually, a clarity emerges that is revealed as a spiritual ‘code’ of a person or place.

My life is about simplicity and tuning into the creative forces of the universe.  I practice mindful medication and am a Reiki Master.
